Everyday use of Pi: Most odometers work by counting wheel rotations and assume that the distance traveled is the number of wheel rotations times the tire circumference, which is a standard tire diameter times pi (3.1416). If nonstandard or severely worn or under-inflated tires are used then this will cause some error in the odometer. 1/8” tread wear on a 36-inch tire reduces the circumference by 0.8 inches. Over the length of 1 mile, this adds up to 33.6 feet. After “actually” traveling 157 miles, the odometer will be “off” by 1 mile. ... Smaller diameter tires will effect odometer reading more than larger tires.

Everyday Exponents.......So, you know that 64GB SD card your mom bought for you? 64GB is a form of exponents. 64GB = 6.4 x 10^10 bytes. Well, sort of. You don't really get 64GB when you by that card. You really only get 59.6GB of memory. That's because the manufacturer uses a base 10 counting system like we normally do. But your computer uses a base 2 system, also known as binary code. So when your computer counts all the little bytes, it comes up with 59.6GB.
